  • 6 British motor torpedo boats and 3 motor gunboats unsuccessfully attacked German armed merchant cruiser Michel off Dover, England, United Kingdom at 0300 hours.   • Italian submarine Mocenigo sank French vessel Ste. Marcelle 17 miles east of Gibraltar. Further east, at 1323 hours, British submarine HMS Ultimatum sank Italian submarine Millo off Calabria, Italy with four torpedoes; 55 were killed, 15 survived (14 of whom were captured by HMS Ultimatum).
