- Britain agreed to allow American ships to deliver emergency flour to Vichy France. ww2dbase [CPC]
- German armed merchant cruiser Kormoran stopped empty British tanker Agnita with shellfire in the Mid-Atlantic about halfway between Brazil and British West Africa.
