- Street fighting broke out in Barcelona, Spain with the CNT (Confederacion Nacional de Trabaja [the Anarcho-Syndicalist Trades Union]) and POUM battling with the Communists, who are supported by the Generalitat. The fighting would last until 8 May. ww2dbase [AC]
