- A BBC broadcast by a broadcaster named Bonifas announced that of all food cargo arriving at Marseille, France from the French African colonies, the Germans took an estimated 40%, Italians took 40%, and the Vichy French government took 12% for its food reserves, leaving only 8% of the food to be sold on the open market. ww2dbase [CPC]
