- Argus was decommissioned from service. ww2dbase [Argus | CPC]
- Commercial airline service began at the Los Angeles Airport (Mines Field). American Airlines, Trans World Airlines (TWA), United Airlines, Southwest Airways, and Western Airlines began passenger operations at the airport.
