My Dad as with the 2/22 Marines as a platoon sergeant at Enewetak and Kwajalein and Parry Island. He was William M Toon from Indiana...passed away 1971 . Anyone remember him? Had an alligator on his shoulder patch.

Great work as always, but you post several photos (with this one) dated 29 Jan 1944. The invasion of Kwajalein would not happen for two more days, on the 31st, as another line entry for 29 January states, as does Wikipedia.

Note the ramp of an LCVP marked 'PA 54-'. This boat is from the USS Wayne which was transferring supplies to the beach that day.
