Along the upper shore of Ford Island, left to right, are an unidentified Escort Carrier, Fleet Carrier USS Yorktown (Essex-class), the overturned hull of the former Battleship USS Utah (sunk in the Pearl Harbor Attack of 7 Dec 1941), Light Carrier USS Belleau Wood, and an unidentified ship. Along the lower shore, left to right, are Light Carrier USS Independence, Fleet Carrier USS Essex, and the righted hull of the overturned Battleship USS Oklahoma at right (also sunk 7 Dec 1941). Across the channel from Essex at the Ten-Ten Dock is the Fleet Carrier USS Lexington (Essex-class).
