Famous WW2 Quote
"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival."Winston Churchill

The destroyers were USS Nicholas, USS Taylor, USS O’Bannon, USS Strong, USS Chevalier, and USS Radford, probably in that order. The cruisers were probably USS Honolulu, USS Helena, USS Nashville, and USS St. Louis. This was probably taken during the transit of Indispensable Strait in the southern Solomon Islands bound for Espiritu Santo, New Hebrides.
