My late Uncle Thomas Francis Powell, Navy Corpsman, Pharmacist Mate, 2nd Class may have been on this ship. He was wounded in Peleliu and received a Purple Heart.
I am trying to find out more about which ship he was definitely on - he would never, ever speak of his time in this battle.
If anyone can direct me to where I might research this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
