Looks like these Mudd Marines setup and ready
both have personal M-1,.30 Caliber Carbine
Rifles. The M-1 Carbine was a gas operated,
semi-automatic, magazine fed shoulder weapon that used both 15 and 30 round box magazines.
The later M2 was a select-fire weapon, that is semi and full automatic. During the Vietnam War, the M1 and M2 were still in use
