Note the two Lewis machine guns mounted on Trout’s bridge.
Across the water between the two officer’s caps at left is the harbor ferry Manuwai at the Merry Point ferry slip in her wartime paint. The official Navy caption for this photo misidentifies the ferry as the Nihoa.
