2 Dec 1941 American submarine USS Trout began a "simulated war patrol" off Midway.
9 Feb 1942 USS Trout sank Japanese auxiliary gunboat Chuwa Maru 50 miles northeast of Taiwan.
11 Apr 1942 USS Trout damaged Japanese tanker Nisshin Maru 5 miles off the southern coast of Japan.
2 May 1942 USS Trout sank Japanese freighter Uzan Maru 134 miles southwest of Tokyo, Japan.
4 May 1942 USS Trout sank Japanese auxiliary gunboat Kongosan Maru southeast of Japan.
21 Sep 1942 USS Trout sank Japanese auxiliary net layer Koei Maru 55 miles south of Truk, Caroline Islands.
29 Feb 1944 The US submarine Trout was reported missing, presumed sunk, whilst on patrol northwest of the Philippine Islands.
