ww2dbaseSusan "Susie" Ruth Kuehn was the daughter of amateur German spy Bernard Kuehn, who was sent by German Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels to US Territory of Hawaii to assist the Japanese in gathering intelligence in Honolulu. She dated junior officers in the military in an attempt to gain secrets, and worked at her mother's beauty parlor catering to military wives hoping that she would gather useful intelligence from the patrons' careless chatter. She was arrested along with the rest of her family on 21 Feb 1942 and was imprisoned for the remainder of the war. She was deported back to Germany in 1948.
