ww2dbaseYoshinao Kodaira was born in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, in 1918. He was a Japanese Navy pilot who served aboard carriers Shokaku and Chiyoda, credited with downing 13 enemy aircraft during the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Pacific War. After the war, he remained in the military as a member of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. He passed away in 2008.
