ww2dbaseWaldemar Kophamel was a submarine tender of the Germn Navy. She was commissioned into service in Oct 1940. In Dec 1944, she was struck by bombs and sank. In 1950, the Soviet Union raised the wreck and commissioned into Soviet Navy service with a new name, Kuban, after a long period (1951-1955) of repairs. In the final five years of her service life, she served as a floating barracks ship for the Soviet Northern Fleet under the name PKZ-12. She was removed from the Soviet Navy list in 1978 and was scrapped some time after.
