ww2dbaseThe Panzerbüchse 38 anti-tank rifles were designed by B. Brauer and built by the Gustloff-Werke in Suhl, Thuringia in central Germany. These weapons were known for their lack of reliability in the field, as dirt tend to jam the systems. Between 1939 and 1940, 1,408 of these weapons were built. Some of them were used during the invasion of Poland. As soon as the new PzB 39 design was available, the entire production line was switched over to the new weapon, ending the production life of PzB 38 after only after two years.Source: Wikipedia. ww2dbase
