ww2dbaseHitler Youth Knives (Hitler-Jugend-Fahrtenmesser) were a ceremonial weapons given to members of the paramilitary Hitler Youth organization who had passed certain exams; those who had earned these blades wore them as part of their uniforms. They were designed mainly based on bayonets of Gewehr 98 rifles. Some examples had the inscription "Blut und Ehre!" on the blades, meaning "Blood and Honor!", though some blades, especially those produced mid- to late-war, only had a simple "RZM" emblem of the purchasing office of the Nazi SA organization. Some of the higher ranking Hitler Youth leaders received knives with more intricate decorative trims.Source: Wikipedia ww2dbase
