  • 3 Chinese Hawk 75 and 7 Chinese I-15 fighters intercepted 27 Japanese bombers over Hengyang, Hunan, China, shooting down 1 Japanese bomber and damaging another but losing 1 Hawk 75 fighter.   • 32 P-40 fighters of the US 14th Air Force (including several flown by Chinese pilots) attacked the Japanese airfield near Hengyang, Hunan, China.
