- Submarine USS Narwhal arrived at Mios Woendi, Dutch New Guinea (now Papua, Indonesia). Narwhal's fourteenth war patrol was concluded. All passengers were disembarked and transported to the base hospital. On arrival, Commander William Holman relieved Commander Jack Titus as Narwhal's commanding officer. Commander Titus was awarded the Legion of Merit for his exceptionally meritorious conduct during this patrol. ww2dbase [Narwhal | Mios Woendi | DS]

- Following a tender refit alongside submarine tender USS Orion, submarine USS Narwhal took aboard 60 tons of cargo and 31 passengers and departed Mios Woendi, Dutch New Guinea (now Papua, Indonesia) on her fifteenth war patrol. ww2dbase [Narwhal | Mios Woendi | DS]
