ART HISTORY 101:
Berlin - A watercolor painted by Adolf Hitler of Munich's old City Hall a century ago, sold for
130,00 euros about $162,000 dollars. It is one of the 2,000 paintings made by Hitler.
CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY:
The painting includes an original bill of sale
and a letter signed by Hitler's adjutant Albert Bormann, brother of Hitler's secret secretary Martin Bormann.
FINDERS KEEPERS:
After World War II a number of Hitler's paintings
were captured by American and Allied Forces, some
of this captured material is still held by the U.S. Government.
Other paintings remain in private collections and
others have surfaced over the decades in 2009
fifteen of Hitler' painting sold for $120,000 dollars and one painting sold for $42,300 dollars
