Gato Operational Timeline

23 Mar 1942 American blimp mis-identified and bombed American submarine USS Gato off San Francisco Bay, California, United States.
21 Jan 1943 USS Gato attacked a Japanese convoy east of Kieta, Bougainville, Solomon Islands, damaging one transport.
12 Mar 1944 USS Gato (SS-212) sank the 871-ton Japanese army cargo ship Okinoyama Maru No. 3 by gunfire north of New Guinea.
