21 Sep 1942 | USS Grouper sank Japanese merchant ship Tone Maru 85 miles east of Shanghai, China. |
28 Sep 1943 | USS Grouper unloaded supplies for coast watchers on New Britain. She also picked up downed airman Captain Arthur Post of US 8th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, who had been shot down three months prior. |
