USS S-38 Operational Timeline

21 Dec 1941 USS S-38 attempted to attack the Japanese invasion fleet in the Lingayen Gulf in western Luzon, Philippine Islands at 0710, but all four torpedoes missed. At 0758 hours, she attacked again, sinking freighter Hayo Maru at 0758 hours.
8 Aug 1942 USS S-38 sank Japanese troop transport Meiyo Maru 14 miles west of Cape Staint George, New Ireland at 2000 hours; 353 were killed.
