WHILE THE FUHRER SLEPT:
US forces land Omaha Beach near Colleville sur Mar, France. Normandy to Berlin, 650 miles/1046km
My late father worked in a defense plant it produced weapons 24/7 three shifts.
When word news was announced, that the allies landed in Normandy everyone knew that WWII in Europe would be over within a year.
My Father Henry W. De Nomie 1919 - 2007 my two uncles Raymond and Robert US Army returned home forever changed.
