  • Indonesian leaders Sukarno, Mohammad Hatta, and Sjarrafudin brokered a ceasefire between Indonesian Communists and the British in Surabaya, Indonesia, but violence would resume within hours.   • Prince Ratanavongsa Phetsarath of Luang Phrabang agreed to a consolidation between the Lao Issara Army and the Committee of Independent Laos.
