All VMA-332 Korean War combat missions were flown from the USS Bairoko (CVE-115) located in the Yellow Sea. VMA-332 transferred to the USS Point Cruz on 5 August 1953 after the Armistice was signed on 27 July 1953. VMA-332 off loaded from the Point Cruz on 21 November 1953. How do I know this, I was there, but don't take my word for this - check out the various 332 Monthly Command Diaries and the Bairoko & Point Cruz Carrier Combat Action Reports during 1953! There was a series of photos taken of 332 activities aboard the Point Cruz which included the one photo above. I just wanted to set the record straight concerning VMA-332 combat activities aboard the USS Bairoko, not the Point Cruz as stated in the caption above.
