SOMEWHERE IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC:

The Japanese Navy operated a number of seaplane carriers. These ships were used to provide air support, anti-submarine patrols and
operated from island bases.
File photograph shows Aichi E13A1 (JAKE) and FIM2 (PETE) seaplanes. The Kamikawa Maru could carry (12) Aichi E13A1 (JAKE) and Mitsubishi F1M2 (PETE) seaplanes, with another (24) in storage.
