POST-WAR: TWILIGHT YEARS

After World War II the US Navy kept surviving TBM Avengers in its post-war inventory. Those aircraft, continued carrier duty and later were operated by the Naval Reserves.

The avenger was operated in the (ASW) roll as
Anti-Submarine Warfare, (ECM) Electronic Counter-Measures. Used for training, light cargo transport, drones, airframe instruction and other duties. The TBM Avenger was phased out and retired in 1960.
