- Second Lieutenant Danilo of 1st Brazilian Fighter Group was shot down in flames whilst attacking trains to the Southwest of Treviso, Italy. Baling out Lieutenant Danilo walked for twenty-four days, across enemy territory before joining the partisans and finally getting through the front lines to rejoin his comrades. ww2dbase [AC]
- The British Pacific fleet consisting of four aircraft-carriers, two battleships, four cruisers, eleven destroyers, and a large fleet train of supply ships under the command of Admiral Sir Bruce Fraser with Vice-Admiral Sir Philip Vian in charge of the carriers arrived in Australia. ww2dbase [AC]
- About 3,000 men evacuated from Stalag Luft III in Sagan, Germany arrived at Marlag und Milag Nord prisoners of war camp in Westertimke, Germany.
