- Canadian troops rioted in Aldershot, England, United Kingdom in protest against the delay in shipping them home after service in Europe. Around 500 troops were involved although little damage was caused and no one was seriously injured. ww2dbase [AC]

- Five of the eight surviving submarines of Operation Barney's Hydeman's Hellcats arrived safely at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii: USS Flying Fish, Spadefish, Tinosa, Bowfin, and Skate.
