FLYING COLORS: FLOWN APRIL 5th and 7th 1945
The Yamato flew different flags the main mast flag was the Japanese Naval Ensign, The Vice Admiral's Flag and the Samurai Banner.
For Yamato's last mission painted on the side of her funnel was Kikusui Chrysanthemum Crest.
LOST AT SEA:
When the Yamato sank, 2,498 officers and men were lost with her. Out of the ships company 280 survived.
