- A radar-equipped PBY Catalina conducted a pre-dawn bombing raid of the Japanese submarine base and main camp area on Kiska Island. - US Marine Corps squadron VMF-214, flying Corsair fighters, provided top cover for another squadron's strafing mission against the Japanese anchorage at Faisi, Shortland Islands, Solomon Islands.
